Percisio Navigation
Percisio Navigation is a cutting-edge solution designed to simplify medical procedures. Powered by computer vision, Navigation assists practitioners in various applications, from controls to percutaneous interventions such as biopsy, infiltration, puncture, and drainage. Navigation can be integrated with an extensive array of tools, ranging from ultrasound probes to various clinical needles.

A Markerless Navigation System
Percisio uses computer vision for two jobs at once: monitoring the patient and tracking the instruments. Relying on vision for both is what lets Percisio work without the markers that electromagnetic and infrared tracking systems depend on.

- HQ cameras
- Two high-resolution cameras, one at each end of the unit, recognise the operator's hand and the needle.
- Stereo camera
- Captures the patient's body surface as a 3D point cloud throughout the procedure.
Following the patient
Any movement shifts the target, breathing included, so the patient is monitored throughout the procedure. The stereo camera keeps the hologram overlaid on the patient: it captures the body surface as a point cloud and aligns it with the skin from the CT.
When breathing or movement pulls the patient away from their position on the CT, the match drops and the operator pauses until it recovers.
Following the needle
The two HQ cameras recognise the operator's hand and the needle.
They sit at opposite ends of the unit on purpose: the wider the baseline between two cameras, the more precisely they compute depth, and accuracy depends on that depth.
When the camera unit cannot see the patient, because of how the patient is positioned or because the scanner is in the way, a lightweight companion module is attached to the needle. It gives the system the needle's angles in 3D.

Hologram-Based Procedure Planning
PERCISIO Navigation adopts a hologram-based approach to map the patient's anatomy and assist in any medical procedure. This example demonstrates a percutaneous drainage procedure using Navigation. A liver abscess has been identified during the hologram construction, based on medical imaging.
The doctor has defined the medical plan within the hologram, allowing the practitioner to simply follow the on-screen guidance to perform the operation.
Precision 3D Holograms
The hologram is a precise 3D representation of the patient's anatomy. PERCISIO Navigation automatically segments the skin, bones, organs, and allows the identification of targets preparing the hologram for medical operation.
